I am a midwife with extensive experience over 27 years in clinical midwifery practice and senior management with a strong governance foundation. I am driven, self-reliant and have a passion for teaching and learning to help develop healthcare professionals who are equipped to provide high standards of care. I maintain a sound understanding and knowledge base related to contemporary midwifery practice. I hold a strong understanding and appreciation of UK law and I am an accredited midwifery expert witness holding the Cardiff University Bond Solon Civil Expert Witness Certificate. I am registered with the National Crime Agencies Forensic Medical Advice Team.

I have undertaken circa 80 expert witness reports and regularly accept instructions for Claimant and Defendant cases, as well as those regarding Professional Regulation and Fitness to Practice issues. I have also accepted instructions in cases associated with criminal charges and have testified in Crown Court in a criminal case. I am willing to accept instructions in Claimant or Defendant cases. I am competent to accept instructions for both full and advisory/screening reports. I work flexibly and am able to respond promptly to enquiries and provide premium report turn-around when required. I pride myself on communication during instructions and maintain availability and responsiveness.

I hold both clinical midwifery and expert witness indemnity insurance.

I confirm that I am aware of the requirement of Part 35 and Practice Direction 35, and the Guidance of the Instruction of experts in Civil Claims 2014.

I am constantly developing my knowledge and skills and am undertaking the Bond Solon CUBS Criminal Law and Procedure course in July 2025 and this will complete the Cardiff University Bond Solon Criminal Expert Witness Certificate. I am also undertaking the Newborn Life Support training in neonatal resuscitation with the UK Resuscitation Council in June 2025.
