Helen attained Initial Nurse training between 1983 and 1987. Through work in Royal Free Hospital London, Well Woman Screening Unit BUPA PLC and Handsworth Medical Practice London worked her way up to the position of Locality Nurse Manager in Waltham Forest Primary Care Trust, where she worked between 2002 and 2004. Joined Barking & Dagenham Primary Care Trust in 2004 in a capacity of Head of Clinical Development Unit (CDU), where she stayed for 4.5 years. As Project Manager overseen Maternity Modernisation in Luton and Dunstable NHS Foundation Trust for a year. Between July 2009 and March 2014 worked as a Project Manager in Children and Maternity Service Delivery NHS Northeast Essex Clinical Commissioning Group. Worked with One-to-One Midwives in Essex from March 2014 to April 2015.
2015-2019 - took a career break to take care of a member of her family.
Returned to practice in 2019 in a capacity of a student at Swansea University followed by placement at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen. Since September 2021 has been employed as a Senior Registered Nurse working in the Pre-Assessment Unit at Werndale Hospital undertaking pre-operative assessments.
