Catherine Kotas

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

I qualified as an adult nurse in 2003 and went directly into Intensive Care during which time I completed my Mentorship course, High Dependency course, Intensive Care course and Nursing Studies BSc. I moved into Practice Development where I worked independently covering multiple departments, and in the corporate team. I returned to a clinical role as a Specialist Nurse in Respiratory before heading a team as a Rheumatology Nurse Specialist, where I completed my Non-Medical Prescribing. Currently I’m an Advanced Nurse Practitioner working directly for or contracted to NHS services, either working from home or based in clinics seeing patient in ‘out of hours’ GP services. I’m working towards my MSc Advanced Practice.

I have a keen interest in raising standards and ensuring quality care, I have written and developed policies and procedures for departments and Trusts. I take an active part in the Clinical Guardian team, where we audit our peers notes and feedback on practice. I have an eye for detail and have designed and undertaken audits, winning awards and ensuring we are working safely, transparently and with researched based evidence.
