I am an analytical, caring and holistic nurse with 30 years of nursing experience within a Community setting, this includes District Nurse and District Nurse Manager, Continuing Health Care Assessor, End of Life Care Lead, Non- Medical Prescribing Lead, Practice Nurse Manager and Advanced Nurse Practitioner both in General Practice and Urgent and Unscheduled Care Services, this includes Home Visits, Face to Face Treatment Centre Consultations and Remote Triage, in patients from cradle to grave.

Within these roles I have expertise in Non – Medical Prescribing (over 20years - I was one of the first Independent Nurse Prescriber in Somerset), Continuing Care Assessment, Wound Care, Palliative and End of Life Care, Falls Assessment, Venepuncture, Urinary Catheterisation, Minor Illness, Care of the Elderly, Risk Management, Clinical Supervision, Team Building, PGDs, Medicines Management and Management in General Practice.

In addition I have always had a passion for service development and implemented the role, battling a huge cultural shift, of Advanced nurse practitioner within a rural GP practice, I started this as a pilot project doing 10 hours a week, there are now 6 Nurse practitioners including myself working within the practice, and this has revolutionised the way that Primary Care is delivered.
